Simple Minds today announced their brand new studio album 'Sacrosanct' and released the first single 'Beginner Boys'.
Last year alone they played in front of over 1.5m people and some of their biggest audiences since 1985, on their hugely successful 'Global Tour'. It was during this remarkable period, on a high from touring, they began to craft and record their new album.
'Sacrosanct' is the third, alongside 'Walk Between Worlds' and 'Direction of the Heart', in an emphatic trilogy.
'Beginner Boys', the first single released from the album, is inspired by Kerr watching his twin grandsons grow up and thinking about what it means to raise a good man today — "how strength, tenderness, courage, and gentleness might still belong together, even when the wider culture around them can send mixed signals. It's less a statement than a question I hope they'll spend their lives answering for themselves."
'Sacrosanct' will be released on 29 January 2027.
The release of Sacrosanct coincides with Simple Minds embarking on their biggest arena tour to date, which will begin early February in Australia and New Zealand, before heading to Europe and the UK in April and May.
*European 'V Tour' starting in Portugal joined by very special guests Level 42. Support for the UK dates comes from very special guest Gary Numan.

Olivia Rodrigo has released her new single, "Serena Joy".
The track takes its name from Serena Joy Waterford, a central character in Margaret Atwood's 1985 dystopian novel The Handmaid's Tale.
Serena helps establish the patriarchal and authoritarian regime of Gilead, only to find herself stripped of rights and freedoms by the system she promoted.
Written by Olivia Rodrigo and her longtime collaborator Dan Nigro during sessions for Rodrigo's third studio album, "serena joy" embodies a punk spirit: angst-filled, urgent, and charged with protest energy.
A portion of the net proceeds from "serena joy" will be donated to the Daisy Chain Fields Fund.

Queens of the Stone Age have always remained enduringly, singularly magnetic. It isn't just their sound. It's their spirit. They are provocative in the most essential sense: unafraid to explore the dark, the sexual, the surreal, the absurd. It's art that snarls and seduces in equal measure, and never more so than on the band's ninth album, Perfecth, due Oct. 30 from Matador Records.
Out today is latest single "Insignificant Other," which could be considered the album's centerpiece. It's the second of only two takes and captures the quintet playing loose and unguarded and making space for one another on the fly. "It's a song about distance," says frontman Joshua Homme. "About how someone can be your entire world only to simply vanish. And about the strange vertigo of being on the receiving end of that."

Royal Blood, one of the most important British hard rock bands of their generation, return today with an explosive new single 'Ten Over Ten' and announce their long-awaited fifth studio album, 'Dead Company', to be released via Warner Records on 13th November.
The 'Dead Company' LP marks a powerful new chapter for the duo, who last released an album in 2023.
The first track to be revealed, 'Ten Over Ten', is a menacing desert rock meets Motorhead behemoth of a single. The lyrics and vibe were inspired by the frontman training for a marathon.
Since they first emerged 12 years ago, Royal Blood has made an impact: each of their four albums has hit Number One in the UK, moving over 1 million records and becoming an arena-filling, festival-headlining tour de force, and forerunners of the guitar rock revival we're seeing today.
